We Apologize for the Delay in Hewlett Services...

Thank you for your patience as we now resume services...

It's been a busy 7 months and after all of the flack I got for not keeping people up-to-date, I've decided to pick back up. Truth be told, I really enjoy looking back on my posts, and because I don't journal or scrapbook (or any of the other things that good mothers do), it's really the only way that I have to remember the funny little things and the happy times…the stressful times are easier to remember somehow. I wish my grammar and spelling were perfect, and sometimes I wish I had more glamorous things to blog about, but for now, it will have to suffice.

Here’s a rundown...February, March and April 2010

February
Baby Vi.
Baby Violet (aka Bub Wyatt) was finally born. Owen and I flew to Utah for a visit (Brad joined us a day later, but stayed home to take care of the pups). Owen really is the best little flyer. He loves the airport and squeals at all of the planes taking off and landing. The whole time we are in the plane, he knows exactly what's going on and he acts it out with his airplane toys (he puts the landing gear up and the rutter down...I'm not kidding). The flight attendants adored Owen (even if the stinky man we sat next to wasn't impressed).
We arrived in SLC and I couldn't wait to meet my new niece. I was still recovering from a bad cold, so I had to be careful when holding baby Vi, thus you see my masked ogling. It was so hard to fly back home and go to my insanely stressful job in Denver. I just wanted to be there with my family and my sister. Brad and I had been chatting about moving back to Utah for a while, but this trip really put the heat on and I put my resume out there.
March & April

Easter.
We celebrated Elle’s birthday in Colorado and had an egg hunt at the LeFevre's (Stacy and Brent) house. Owen was more interested in getting that lawn mowed. When I showed him that the eggs had chocolate in them, he actually started looking for some, but the competition was stiff!

We then took another trip home to Utah for Easter where we hunted for Easter eggs in the snow, attended our annual egg decorating event at Grammy’s, and had a scary Easter morning. First of all, Owen is not a morning person, but second of all, the Easter Bunny brought Owen a T-Rex and it was just a bit much – both he and Addy admired from a distance. The funny thing is, he’s still afraid of the dang thing and the Easter Bunny spent a good $50 bucks on that fabulous toy….maybe he’ll appreciate it when he’s 7. Owen did enjoy a hideous snake puppet that Nana and Gramps were so kind to send home with us. He wouldn’t take his sweaty hand out of that thing!

More April
Job interviews and offer...
I came home for a job interview at SLCAP Head Start. My interview was for a Community Partnerships Coordinator (a glorified Event Planner), but during the interview, the Director asked me if I would be interested in another position because she knew that my passion was working with the families. So, a week later, I got a phone call from SLCAP HR asking me to come back for another interview. I flew out again, this time for just one day, and the next day at work in Denver, my boss asked me to come into her office right away. She was very upset, and told me that she had just received a reference call and that she was sure they were going to hire me. I could barely contain my excitement and had to pull off an Oscar winning acting performance so that I didn't jump out of the chair and dance on the table. Brad and I had wanted this move ever since Owen was born. When I got the offer, the job was definitely a step down in pay and responsibility than what I had, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. I gave my 3 week notice and we scrambled to find a house to rent in Utah, ready our home to go on the market, and pack up all of our stuff (who knew that we had sooo much crap). It was nerve-wracking, but so exciting.
